Review: The Girl & Her Ren by Pepper Winters

The Girl and Her Ren (The Ribbon Duet, #2)The Girl and Her Ren by Pepper Winters

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Pepper Winters has ruined me for all other love and life stories. This book duet, and The Girl and Her Ren especially, have a special place in my book lover’s heart. I know without a shadow of doubt that these books will forever be favorites of mine. Ren & Della’s story was written so beautifully and flawlessly. It is raw, real, and will transport you to every forest, river, small town, and meadow they battle life and love in.

This book continues the story of Ren & Della right where The Boy & His Ribbon left off… they are both fighting past demons and trying to find solace in the real world without the other. But, the ribbon that forever ties them together never breaks. Their connection and bond is one of, if not, the strongest I have ever read. They are both passionate, giving, loving, strong human beings who simply cannot exist without the other.

Their story is beautiful and heart-wrenching. I cried – like ugly cried – for most of the end of the book. But I could not stop reading their story. I was living it with them by then. I was experiencing their love, their pain, their sorrow, and their joy. I lived in that farmhouse with them. I worked in the fields, painted the houses, and felt their passion in the wild. That is forever what they would be – Ren & Della Wild. I love them like no other characters, and I mourn saying goodbye to them…for now. Their story will always be in my heart, and I will forever think of Della when I see a blue ribbon. Thank you Pepper Winters for this beautiful story of love and life. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! XO
