Review: Commander in Briefs by Kristy Marie

Commander in Briefs (Commander in Briefs, #1)Commander in Briefs by Kristy Marie

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh this book was everything I was NOT expecting it would be and more! I absolutely devoured this steamy and witty novel by this new author….which I would have never known this was her debut novel. I loved the banter – the bromances – the flirting – the steamy scenes – the baseball – the military men – the sassy heroine…oh I could go on and on.

Anniston is not your average girl. Like me, she loves baseball, the guys, and demands control of every situation. I knew this girl was going to be trouble and run the show from the first Chapter. She had Theo won over from their teenage years, and I loved how that relationship changed and grew over the years. Gah – I loved their friendship, banter, and fierce loyalty to the other one.

Theo Von Bremen is quite the a-hole hero. He is cocky, built, and an All-Star baseball player (my dream guy!) Somehow this guy lands the heart of Anniston, and although he plays the role of the confident, smirking “I get everything I want” sexy hero – she somehow has molded this strong man into putty in her hands. He will do anything and everything for her. They. just. can’t. get. enough. of. each. other.

I wasn’t sure what was going to happen when Major Cade entered the story. He was broken, mysterious, handsome, and fit a little too easily into Anniston’s life. However, as their story goes on, you begin to understand and love the role each of them play in the other’s lives. I honestly felt like these characters were not the same people at the end of the book as they were at the beginning – and all for the better.

I love a book that can make me swoon, laugh and cry all in one – and this one checked all the boxes several times over. Well done K. Marie! I’m officially a fan and I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
