Title: Yours Truly, Cammie

Author: S.J. Sylvis

Genre: Contemporary Romance

I had the privilege of proofreading this book, and I absolutely loved it. It is sweet, sexy and everything you would think of a military romance to be. I fell hard for Luke, and enjoyed the fun and flirty banter between him and Cammie throughout the Entire Book.
Their story will have you laughing, crying, and swooning hard at times. Enjoy!!!

Be sure to check out the blurb below, and make sure you read my 5* review HERE

Blurb:
I follow one rule in life: Don’t get involved with a Marine.

After this past year of heart-wrenching misery, and an entire childhood as daughter of one of the highest ranked officers in the Marine Corps, I’ve had enough of saying goodbye. I’ve had enough heartbreak to last me a lifetime.

But in an attempt to avoid an awkward run-in with a previous blind date, whom I may or may not have abandoned mid-dinner, I found myself standing in an exam room with Lucas Wells. He was exceptionally handsome on the outside, but the second he started to run that egotistical mouth of his, I wanted to do one of two things: smack him or kiss him.

Lucas Wells, the United States Marine, has me bending my rule in more ways than one.

But the real question is, will I succumb to breaking my rule altogether, or will he break me before I even get the chance?

Review: Because Forever by B. Cranford

Because Forever (The Avenue #2)Because Forever by B. Cranford

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Oh I love a good friends to lovers story and this one was no exception! I was first introduced to Odette “Odie” and Austin “Aussie” in About Time (The Avenue series #1), and I loved how they had such a long-standing guy/girl best friendship. Austin hinted in About Time about his true feelings for Odie, so I was sooo happy to finally get to read their story.

First off, if you haven’t read About Time – read it now! What I love the most about this series – besides the fab couples – is the sibling relationship between Austin (Tiny), Ashton (Little) and Aaron (A). These three have THE Best friendship and support system that you could ask for from your siblings. They are hilarious, fiercely loyal and protective, and they love and care for each other as if they were the last people on Earth. I absolutely love their banter, crude jokes, and open and honest relationship they have with each other. Also – the way they accept and love the significant others of each other is so touching and beautiful. They have created an amazing family for themselves all without the support of their parents.

Odie & Austin….oh I love them. Like really love them. Odie is intimidating – a little fireball. She can literally spar with the boys, make witty comebacks, rock behind the bar, and show her vulnerability all at once. Her love for Austin is so darn cute, and the fact that she has hidden her true feelings for him all these years just makes their relationship that more wonderful.

If I had to pick one of these boys in this series to fall for – it would be Austin. He is an absolute doll. He is gorgeous, funny as hell, care-free, and owns his own bar – with his sister! The fact that he forgets everything is endearing – to a point. He will always be “Tiny” to his siblings – always reminding everyone that he is the youngest, and therefore can get away with a bit more. I fell for him in About Time, and the way he spoke about Odie…..oh he was so swoon-worthy!!! He tortured himself denying his feelings for her, all the while he would go on and on about how perfect she was for him. His humor and over the top gestures to win her heart were the icing on the cake for me. He loves this girl so much – gah! Their easy friendship and exploding chemistry made this book so fun to read. Can’t wait to read what’s next in this series for these fun and flirty characters! Well done B. Cranford! XO

Review: Reckless Love by J. Saman

Reckless Love: A second Chance RomanceReckless Love: A second Chance Romance by J. Saman

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Inevitably, we’re forced to make sacrifices. It’s when we sacrifice the ones we love for the things we shouldn’t that changes us.”

Oh I loved this book!! This was the first book I have read by J. Saman and I could tell from the first few pages that I was going to fall hard with this one. This is a second chance romance between Lyric, a world famous rock-star’s daughter, and Jameson, the boy she knew from childhood. I was immediately sucked into their story feeling every emotion from Lyric in the Prologue. Oh this girl was so heartbroken! After experiencing a couple of big heartbreaks of my own, and a long distance relationship, I could empathize with Lyric on so many levels and I was drawn to her. The author did a fab job making their story so real and raw.

Although you know from the beginning that Jameson is going to break Lyric’s heart – you can’t help but fall for this guy. He is my tall, dark, and handsome dream. He’s a flirt, a charmer, has the dimples, the muscles, the brains and plays college baseball!!! OH MY GOD I AM IN LOVE WITH HIM!!!!! What I also adored about Jameson is he was so open and honest with how he felt about Lyric – he didn’t hold back with her. Their relationship evolved exactly how you envision a friends to lovers to soulmates story. There were hurdles, challenges, long-distance struggles, pessimistic friends, and growing pains; but there was also lust, laughs, passion, private moments shared between the two of them as “friends”, intimate hugs that opened their eyes to more, and a love that is rare and beautiful.

I cried, laughed, and swooned hard with this book. The secondary characters, and the settings of Nashville, NYC, and SoCal were perfect. I easily could have placed myself right into this story and fallen for Jameson myself. Well done J. Saman! I’m officially a fan!! XO

Review: Envy by Dylan Allen

EnvyEnvy by Dylan Allen

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is one of those books that you finish and just have no words. I read this book over 3 days, and I had to sleep on my review. I fell in love with the story – hated the story – fell in love with it all over again and then some.

This book is a beautifully written second chance romance between Graham and Apollo (who is a girl with an amazing name!). It spans over a decade in time from when they meet as adolescents into their 20’s. The back-story and early years of Graham and Apollo’s friendship is both beautiful and tragic. I fell in love with their relationship immediately, and every experience they had together created a bond and chemistry that no one could deny. They created a safe haven between the two of them that only they could understand and share with each other. Their loyalty to the other one knew no bounds, and it was apparent from early on that their relationship would stand the test of time and distance.

As the years go on, it is hard to read the decisions that Graham makes to take care of those who he loves. I was upset, mad, and then just had to accept the fact that he was doing what only a desperate man would do in his situation to take care of those closest to him. Despite his decisions, he made himself a star both in his social and professional life. Only he didn’t see himself that way. He was broken and determined to follow the advice of his mama despite the obstacles in his path to get what he truly wanted. I fell in love with the younger version of Graham, and had to accept the good, bad and ugly parts of him along the way.

But I also fell in love with Apollo. She is a ray of sunshine from the moment she steps on the pages of the book until the end. She is everything Graham needs – strong, brilliant, charismatic, determined, and passionate. She was a rock for Graham; and although there is heartbreak – I loved the fact that she stayed true to herself through their entire journey. She never wavered. She never let herself accept anything less from Graham then she deserved and wanted. I think she is my idol.

You will feel everything in this story. It is real and raw. You will laugh and cry through their experiences, as well as swoon and daydream about their young love and the lasting impressions they make on one another. It is all things broken and beautiful. Well done Dylan Allen! I can’t wait for more in this series. XO
