Book Description
DOMINIC
One wrong step derailed my entire professional tennis career. Fleeing the spotlight, I head to Arbor Cove—the perfect place to focus solely on my recovery.

Helping the woman who threatened me with pepper spray is the last thing I should be doing. I can’t afford to be distracted by thoughts and fantasies that have nothing to do with returning to tennis and everything to do with making Tristan mine.

Especially after learning what being together could cost us both.

TRISTAN
One word shattered my world. Because of my parents’ crimes, I’m now the sole guardian of my three siblings.

Desperate for a fresh start away from the public eye, we trade NYC for the quiet town of Arbor Cove. My only priority is putting our lives back together—falling for a world famous athlete is not part of the plan.

Especially knowing Dominic Moreau can’t be mine to keep.

EXCERPT:
“Do you have any plans for the Fourth of July? There’s a bonfire and barbecue on Brighton Beach with fireworks. Gen and Liam have been begging me to take them. You should meet us there if you’re free,” I say without giving myself a chance to change my mind. A week ago I practically balked at the idea of dinner together in public, now I’m asking him to meet us at an event most of the town probably attends.
“July fourth? Seems random. What’s the occasion?” he asks, looking perfectly confused with a brow arched.
My mouth gapes on a gasp. “Um, America’s Independence Day? And you say you have dual citizenship!”
A slow smile spreads from one corner of his mouth to the other before he breaks into full-on laughter.
“You jerk!” I groan and roll my eyes before reaching over and punching him in the bicep. “I can’t believe I fell for that.”
He rubs his arm, feigning actual injury, but it’s only a second before we’re both smiling and I realize the mood has dramatically lightened. But then, I’m starting to feel that way every time I’m around him. Whether it’s been a stressful day at the gallery or I’m ready to tear my hair out because of one of my siblings, five minutes around Dominic seems to melt away the day’s stress. And I’m not sure that’s a good thing considering he’s only here temporarily, and once he’s gone our lives will certainly never have a reason to overlap.
“I don’t have plans, and I’m probably overdue for a proper American celebration.”
“Well then let’s hope Ellen and Kai invite you to celebrate because my invitation just got revoked,” I counter, proud of myself for keeping a straight face.
“That so? What if I just so happen to show up at the same time and continuously bump into you guys?”
“I’d say you might be turning into a little bit of a stalker so I’m gonna have to cut you loose.”
“Just like that, huh? Ouch.”
I shrug casually. “Somebody’s gotta keep France’s most eligible athlete humble.”

Book Description

ELLIOT

Happily settled into my new position at FMK Weddings, I never expected to be presented with the career opportunity of a lifetime. And I definitely wasn’t expecting it to mean working with Bryce McKnight.

Bryce was the heart and soul of my childhood—my best friend.

Until life pulled us apart and we lost touch.

Our friendship picks up right where it left off—complete with colorful trash talking and wagers on Mario Kart showdowns—only, I’m pretty sure friends don’t make out in parking lots or have naked sleepovers…

BRYCE

The first time we met, I won Elliot Kincaid’s trust with candy and card games.

After everything I’ve done, it’ll take a lot more to win her heart.

Fortunately, I love a good challenge.

With so much at stake for us both, I know Elliot thinks we’re setting ourselves up for heartbreak.

I’ll just have to show her that our friendship was always meant to be the foundation of our forever.

*What It Takes to Fall is a stand alone in the Forget Me Knot series.

Excerpt:

I started scanning her body, making a blatant show of it. “Hmm. You’ve gotta have an off button somewhere. ‘Hello. My name is Elliot Kincaid. I do not know how to relax’,” I mimicked in a robotic voice, continuing with my perusal until she leaned forward and smacked my arm.

“That’s not true!”

“Really? When was the last time you did something non-work-related for fun on a weekday?”

“Last night.”

I closed my laptop and arched a brow. “Uh, while it was fun, that’s called dinner, and it’s something most people do on a regular basis.”

She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, making an equally dramatic show of annoyance. “Fine. But isn’t this like the pot calling the kettle black? Weren’t you a super-workaholic early in your career?”

She had a point, but I wasn’t going to admit it. Instead, I ran my fingers through my hair—knowing it would put that lust-filled look in her eyes—and said, “We can talk shop. On two conditions.”

“I’m listening.”

“One—this shop talk takes place at Sipology while we drink. And two, afterward, we do something fun, and you’re not allowed to talk or even think about work or the inn. Do we have a deal?”

“You drive a hard bargain, Caesar, but we’ve got a deal,” she said, extending her hand for a shake.

I groaned, but took her hand all the same.

“Sorry, would you prefer Princess Peach?”

“Real cute, El.” I leaned in, bringing one hand up to tuck her hair behind her ear so she’d feel my lips brush her lobe. “You can give me a million different nicknames, as long as the name you scream in my bed is the real one.”

I pulled back slowly, relishing the sight of her widened eyes.

She continued to stare while I finished packing up.

“If you’re going to keep staring at me like that, can you at least do it at the bar? I need a stiff drink right about now.”

To go along with the part of me that El’s stare is steadily stiffening with each passing second.

She blinked and shook her head, like she was just now coming back from a daydream. “Great! Yes, liquor. That’s a great idea.” She stood up but paused, narrowing her eyes at me and putting a hand on her hip. “You know, if I’m not allowed to bite my lip, then you’re not allowed to wear your Superman ‘sex-me-up’ glasses. It’s only fair.”

My lips twitched. “I’m sorry, my what?”

She made a sweeping gesture across my whole face. “The glasses, Bryce.”

“You mean the things that allow me to see clearly?”

“You know what else allows you to see clearly? Contacts. And they get the job done without making you look like freaking Clark Kent’s sexier, dirty blonde twin.”

I leaned back in my chair and grinned.

“What’re you…? Why are you looking at me like that?” she huffed.

“Just letting myself savor the moment. This feels like a momentous occasion.”

“What does?”

“The discovery of what butters Elliot Kincaid’s biscuit.”

JASMINE

Once upon a time, there was a girl who had a crush on a boy. Eventually, they fell in love. They lived happily ever after.

Except they didn’t. Not even close.

I’m the girl, but that’s not my story.

Once upon a time, I fell for a boy, but we didn’t have a happily ever after. In fact, we crashed and burned. Which turned out to be for the best because it forced me to grow up and realize the only wedding bells in my future are the ones I orchestrate for clients.

For six years I’ve been perfectly content with meaningless, short-lived flings and running from anything that resembles a real relationship.

That boy?

He’s my best friend’s brother, and he’s no longer the boy I fell for—he’s a man I can’t stand.

Oh, and he’s also my new neighbor.

DEAN

Seemingly overnight, Jasmine Winters went from being my sister’s best friend to being the girl I couldn’t get enough of. But like most good things, it didn’t last.

Things fell apart so suddenly, I’m able to convince myself that summer never happened. At least, I was, until the only distance between us is a hallway instead of a time zone.

Six years ago, I let Jasmine slip through my fingers without an explanation because I was convinced we’d be better off apart. But now that we’re neighbors, our unspoken vow of apathy has unwittingly been shattered. Our exchanges consist of trading insults and icy stare downs. But in-between, I catch glimpses of the way she used to look at me, glimpses of the girl I fell for years ago.

Things are different now, though. This time… I won’t let her walk away without giving me answers.

When Light Leads to You is the second full-length novel of the Forget Me Knot series, but can be read as a standalone. **Due to strong language and the sexy times between these two, this book is recommended to readers ages 18 and up.**

Exclusive Excerpt:

“Oh, no you don’t. I’m not letting you walk away this time, Goldie.”

“Don’t call me that. It’s like you nicknamed me after a retriever, and I hate it.” I tried to break free from his grip, to no avail. “Let me go, Dean.”

“No. This ends here and now, Jasmine.” He sighed and dropped my hand. “Fuck. I—Can we start over?”

The sincerity in his voice caught me off guard. It was an uncharacteristic moment of vulnerability, and it took me back to the days when we were close.

“Fine. You have five minutes.”

“Not here,” he said, shaking his head and grabbing my hand again. “Come with me.”

Against my better judgment, I didn’t rip free of his grip like every part of my brain begged me to do. He led me to a 4-wheeler and stopped, searching my face before hopping on and gesturing for me to climb on behind him.

I hesitated.

“Jas, quit looking at me like you think I’m trying to decide where the best spot would be to dump your lifeless body.”

I swallowed a laugh. “Are you?”

He shook his head as a smile stretched across his lips. “Tick tock, Jasmine. You only gave me five minutes. Come on.”

I bit my lip and actively tried not to think about the fact that riding behind him would mean touching his body. Maybe even holding on to those drool-worthy abs I’d almost convinced myself weren’t there.

Shit, I muttered under my breath before climbing onto the ATV. It’s a fucking 4-wheeler; it’s not like he’s asking you to straddle his naked body and ride him into the wee morning hours.

“Ready?” he asked, releasing the clutch.

“Yes,” I squeaked, fighting a wave of butterflies our proximity set loose in my chest cavity.

I had to hold in a moan when I got a whiff of his cologne, which somehow gave off the perfect balance of masculinity soaked in scents of sandalwood and citrus. Pretty sure someone figured out how to sell pure seduction in a bottle. Before I could stop it, my mind conjured up images of our bodies tangled together, where the speed at which we were shredding each other’s clothes would’ve qualified us for the Olympics of undressing.

Jesus, that escalated quickly.

I shifted uncomfortably, cursing this position for not allowing me to press my thighs together. For the duration of the ride, I willed my brain to think of unsexy topics like the best brand of laundry detergent and the best way to cook cauliflower. No matter where my mind drifted, though, I kept coming back to the notion that this conversation was probably going to shift the very foundation of what our tempestuous relationship was made of.

And I had no fucking clue how to feel about that.

Excerpt Reveal: Why Stars Chase the Sun by C.R. Ellis

Title: Why Stars Chase the Sun

Author: C.R. Ellis

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Excerpt:

“Quick, I only have five minutes until he’s supposed to call, do I look okay?” I asked into the camera, stepping back so I could give Jas a 360-degree view when I twirled around.

The dress she’d suggested was perfect. The color brought out my eyes, and the front dipped into a V, exposing enough cleavage to draw the eyes, but not enough to cross into slutty territory. The straps were about an inch thick, and the hem hit mid-thigh with a small slit on the left side.

Jas whistled at me from through the screen. “Mmm, gimme dat booty, girl,” she cat-called dramatically.

“What shoes?” I paused, frowning and looking down at my bare feet. “Wait, do I even need shoes? It’s just a virtual date; I’m totally overthinking this.”

“Wear those nude wedges you wore to the Hendrickson wedding. They’d be perfect. And, for the twelfth fucking time, you look gorgeous, Jade. Stop stressing. I’m pretty sure you could wear a paper bag and he’d still call you sexy and wanna rip it off with his teeth.”

I laughed. “Okay, nude wedges. Anything else?” I gave myself a once-over and then shook my head. “I’m not sure why I’m even nervous, this is ridiculous.”

“You’ll be fine. You’ll be all ‘ooh, Emmett, I looooove you, now ravish me.’ He’s not going to care what you’re wearing anyway.”

“Hey, I resent your impersonation of me. I do not sound all nasally and obnoxious,” I argued, narrowing my eyes and throwing my hands on my hips.

The jerk just flipped her wavy mane over her shoulder and laughed. “I’m going to get ready for drinks, and you should go, too. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”

“Is there anything you wouldn’t do?”

She paused. “Good point. Maybe I should say do something I would do. Phone sex can be pretty great, just get creative. Did I tell you about that time—”

“Goodbye, Jasmine.” I shook my head and rolled my eyes to the sky, cutting her off before she could go into detail, then hit the END button.

I’d just slipped on the strap of my second wedge when there was a knock outside my door. “Jesus, Jas, I get it, you’re into some kinky shit. I don’t need details,” I called on my way to the door, thinking she’d crossed the hall to give me instructions in person. “I’m perfectly capable of originality in the sexcapades department, thank you very much.”

But it wasn’t Jasmine.

“Yeah, you are,” he replied through a smirk.

I launched myself at the man in front of me, hoping he wasn’t a figment of my imagination. When I didn’t fall on my face, I decided it was the real Emmett standing at my door.

About Why Stars Chase the Sun:

JADE

Twenty-four hours.

A no-strings-attached adventure with the most gorgeous man I’ve ever seen—this was my alcohol-slash-lust-fueled proposal, and given before I could consider the potential ramifications. While his looks alone are enough to make a girl swoon, it’s the rest of him—a perfect balance of mysterious, sweet, and effortlessly charming—that draws me in. Through his cryptic comments and half-answers, he’s quickly become an enigma I’m determined to solve.

One way or another, this adventure promises to snap the stagnant, lackluster pattern my love life has been locked in lately.

Is it naïve and a little reckless to think this won’t blow up in my face? Probably.

But the bigger question is the only one I need to answer…

Is the chance to soar among the stars worth the risk of being burned when the sun eventually rises?

EMMETT

Love is a mistake I won’t make again.

My rules are simple. Keep things surface-deep. Don’t make plans. And never, ever get attached.

One look at her is all it takes for me to break my first rule.

One conversation with her is all it takes for me to question everything.

Which means accepting her proposal is bound to be a mistake.

She has no idea who I am or what kind of demons I live with, so I tell myself there’s no harm in spending one day with her. But the more I lose myself in her, the more she brings me out of the darkness and into her light, the harder it’ll be to let her go.

When reality comes crashing down on us in the worst way possible, I have to decide between walking away…or risking everything for the woman who breaks all of my rules.
